EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
2005-Current
Gary founded Milestone Construction (a family-owned company) in 2005 and has completed numerous commercial and residential projects in the ensuing years.
Prior to 2005
Gary worked in the oil and gas industry in Canada and overseas (Indonesia and Australia) for more than 30 years, supervising and managing construction projects in both gas and oil plant projects (civil and process). These projects had dollar values of $0.5 to $20 million. Gary retired from this industry in 2005.
ABOUT GARY
Gary is a very practical “get it done” leader who prides himself on excellent project management and on finding ways to significantly reduce costs for clients. He has a young and energetic team and is always open to new perspectives and new methodologies in the construction industry. Gary has a very collaborative and proactive approach.
SELECT RELEVANT PROJECTS
- 2014-2015. Managed First Alliance Church expansion 3 floors and 35,000 sq. ft. The project consisted of children classrooms, second floor auditoriums and third floor for future expansions. This project was valued at $6.8 million.
- 2015-current. Worked with Teen Challenge to design and manage the build of their new facility in Priddis, Alberta (Alberta Men’s Addiction Treatment Center). This project consists of two buildings, a 10,000 sq. ft ranch house for kitchen, chapel, classroom, administration offices and a 5000 sq. ft bunk house (sleeps 32) for the students who are in the program. This project is ongoing and has a projected budget at $5.4 million. It is expected to be completed in the summer of 2021.
- 2015-2016. Managed the Trinity Christian School expansion. This project included 6 new classrooms, gymnasium, library, music rooms and hallway expansions. This project was valued at $2.4 million dollars.
- 2013-2014. Managed Encompass church construction. A transformation from a multi bay service shop to a church with two chapels, kitchen facilities, childrens’ rooms and offices. Project value of $1.6 million.
- 2019- Managed the addition of classrooms for the Heritage Christian Academy. This project included 4 classrooms, hallway, stairwell and exterior landscaping and parking. This project value was $1.38 million.
- 2020- current. Currently managing office, staff room facilities, bathrooms, mechanical room construction for Highline Mushrooms, a farm in Airdrie. This project is valued at $485,000.
- 2018 – Managed the renovation of the gymnasium change rooms and bathrooms for the Trinity Christian School. Milestone was under strict deadlines as this project started at the end of school year and was completed before the school year started in September. The project value was $280,000.
- 2019- Managed the renovation of a dog day care (The Petropolitan) downtown Calgary. This project value was $275,000.
- 2018- Managed the renovation of Glenmore Christian Academy main office, staff rooms and three class rooms. This project value was $210,000.
- Managed hallway expansions for the Glenmore Christian Academy. This project value was $185,000.
- Managed numerous smaller projects with values up to $100,000.
