MARCIA Y. BYMA, CPA, CA

Marcia is the Chair of the Board of Directors and is the founder of Chara Foundation and of Chara Seniors Community.

Marcia is a Chartered Professional Account (CPA, CA) and is a member of CPA Alberta having obtained her CA designation in 1992.  She also holds a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) degree and a Bachelor of Commerce degree, both from the University of Calgary.

Marcia has her own accounting practice and has been engaged in public practice for over 30 years.  She provides business consulting, taxation and related services to small and medium size business enterprises.

She greatly enjoyed her time as an adjunct professor (accounting) at a private university for several semesters.

Marcia enjoys working with people of all ages and is passionate about her philanthropic work.  Shortly after the Haiti earthquake in 2010, she initiated an on-the-ground relief effort to especially assist seniors with critical needs,  including coordinating the shipment of relief supplies from Calgary to Port au Prince.

Marcia loves to spend time with friends and family wherever and whenever the opportunity arises.
